! This post hasn't been updated in over a year. A lot can change in a year including my opinion and the amount of naughty words I use. There's a good chance that there's something in what's written below that someone will find objectionable. That's fine, if I tried to please everybody all of the time then I'd be a Lib Dem (remember them?) and I'm certainly not one of those. The point is, I'm not the kind of person to try and alter history in case I said something in the past that someone can use against me in the future but just remember that the person I was then isn't the person I am now nor the person I'll be in a year's time.

Wimbledon is to offer the same prize money to women and it does to men.  Currently it is the only open event that doesn’t pay the male and female winners the same prize.

It’s good that women tennis players will get the same prize but surely they must also play the same number of sets to earn their prize?  Female players don’t play the same number of sets as male players yet last year the female prize was 95% of the male prize.

Maybe the ladies should play in the nude and get paid the same.

    Everyone’s a winner.

Get Maria Sharapova and Anna Hornykova on centre court in the buff and I’ll donate the prize money myself!

Perhaps the players should be paid by the televised viewing figures for their matches at Grand Slams, in a similar way that pop stars are paid by the number of people that buy their records – let the punters work out what is good value, without the bias of directly interested lobbyists.

Why aren’t equal rights protesters calling for the right for women to play 5 set matches?
