Trick or Treat?

! This post hasn't been updated in over a year. A lot can change in a year including my opinion and the amount of naughty words I use. There's a good chance that there's something in what's written below that someone will find objectionable. That's fine, if I tried to please everybody all of the time then I'd be a Lib Dem (remember them?) and I'm certainly not one of those. The point is, I'm not the kind of person to try and alter history in case I said something in the past that someone can use against me in the future but just remember that the person I was then isn't the person I am now nor the person I'll be in a year's time.

Got home from work and the trick or treaters were out in force.

Made sure they didn’t bother me though, I blocked the path with a wheelie bin.

My parents came to visit and said I was tight.  Be honest, was that tight?

Yes it was you miserable bugger!

Mandy took our daughters out trick-or-treating, and I took our son. I got dressed up as a Ring-Wraith. Great Fun, and most households in our area joined in with everything from pumpkin lanterns in the window to fake gravestones in their gardens. I did laugh at Ratnu, my son’s best friend. He went as “the Grim Reaper’s Lawyer – extra scary!”.

When I was a lad we had “Mischievous Night” where householders were plagued by tricks. “Trick or Treat” is just a civilised evolution of an old (northern) English tradition.

I’m with you on this one, Wonko, no hesitation.

By all means let the kids have their fun, dressing up and all, but leave the ‘trick or treating’ on the other side of the Atlantic.

    (Fellow Yorkshireman, too, David).

I just think that, having 4 kids of my own, if I’m going to give anyone sweets it’ll be my own kids. I think that in the US they only tend to knock on the door if they’ve got pumpkins and other halloween tat outside the house.
