What’s behind the promotion of Britishness?

! This post hasn't been updated in over a year. A lot can change in a year including my opinion and the amount of naughty words I use. There's a good chance that there's something in what's written below that someone will find objectionable. That's fine, if I tried to please everybody all of the time then I'd be a Lib Dem (remember them?) and I'm certainly not one of those. The point is, I'm not the kind of person to try and alter history in case I said something in the past that someone can use against me in the future but just remember that the person I was then isn't the person I am now nor the person I'll be in a year's time.

The Torygraph, the BBC, Walkers, Stagecoach – just four companies (yes, the BBC is a company even if it does appear to be more like a government department or a branch of the Liebour Party) that are spending their own money actively promoting “Britain” and Britishness.

Why?  What would prompt Walkers – a multinational corporation – to spend £27m on a Britishness campaign?  Why would Stagecoach spend god knows how many millions on an advertising campaign saying how wonderful “Britain” is?  The Torygraph may be the mouthpiece of the Conswervatives but why devote so much time and money to promoting Britishness, especially when the Torgraph has a Scottish edition?  And the BBC – yes, it’s the British Broadcasting Corporation but they’re short of cash, cutting back on staff and programming yet they still feel it neccessary to spend money on promoting Britishness.

There is something behind this and I don’t know who it is.  It’s got to be either Liebour, the Conswervatives or Common Purpose – I can’t think who else would have the money and influence to get a multi-national corporation to spend £27m on promoting a political agenda that will probably damage their sales.

because despite everything, despite all our monkey politicos throwing turd at each other, despite our current dissatisfactionn with our situation, Britain is still great!

Look at all the foreigners that come here and want to come here, they dont come here for crappy dole cheques, they come here to work, to learn to get rich!

This is one of the few places you can still do this, work hard and be a success!

Britain was great and will be great again, we just need to flush our fucked up politicals

Axel, if I corrected your spelling and punctuation I’d never have time to write anything!

Just one thing to think about – when foreigners come to “Britain” which part of “Britain” do they come to? Erm … 99.9% of the time that would be England.

Britain isn’t great, it doesn’t exist any more other than as a geographic term.

just out of curiousity – how will walkers being involved affect it’s sales ?

    Answer: class interest.

Big business benefits from big Britain.

Little England, sans Empire, wouldn’t be as profitable…

Pat, it would damage their sales in Scotland and Wales where they don’t buy British, they buy Scottish or Welsh. I certainly won’t be buying Walkers and I’ve had quite a few emails from other people saying they won’t be buying Walkers any more either.

    Charlie, same as above.

I’ve seen the stuff in Telegraph, which is obviously merely banging the drum for David Cameron’s bid to become the saviour of the union. It’s in Stagecoach’s commercial interest to encourage people to visit other parts of the country. I’ve no idea what Walkers are trying to achieve … but how, when and where is the BBC (which is a corporation, not a company) `promoting Britishness’?

Stagecoach would spend the money because they are arch unionists and have invested a lot in nationwide transport systems.

Walkers, are they not English? From Leicester? They are now the main crisp maker in the uk, we get Golden Wonder up here but they are a ‘wee local’ national company not a ‘big’ national company

Hi, Maybe if you look at the bigger picture of the NWO, you will see that THEY wanted scotland to break from England, they want the world divided into sections for easy control, you and your fellow scots had no part in it, nothing is ever done for us the people, but they make us believe we are doing things for our good, but they are behind the scenes manipulating, and we are to dumb to see it.
