I’m not 100% sure about this but I think you can link this NHS data base to an EU wide data base. Someone more skilled in the dark arts of finding links via the internet would no doubt confirm that this is true.

Incidently, if you go onto the EU website for Information commissioners ( yes, this is job is based on an EU directive and EU wide) you find the Princiles that underpin the Directive, these cme straight from Orwell and ‘Double Speak’. They are not nice cuddly folk protecting your data but are working for the political eleites.

What security? The leaflet tells you about all this wonderful security – a chip and pin card, only relevant information will be available, you have to give your permission – but none of the security is in place yet and won’t be for some time. The telephone helpline don’t tell you that though, they tell you the security measures are in place. The helpline is just a sales department for the database, they don’t offer any impartial advice.

I got one of those today too! The idea is great but I don’t trust the security of the government databases! Not that there is anything very interesting on my records for me to worry about.

Sounds like a great idea in theory.

My concern is that insurance companies will get hold of it and start invalidating motor and life policies – try sorting out a mortgage or insuring your car then!

TV debate

I think Alec Salmond is talking about the Tv debate because it is good free publicity with no potential for bad come back. Westminster cant hurt us and has no effect upon us and all the 70 odd jock cocks who are down there seem to do is piss on your chips, i really dont see the oint in having people representing scottish seats down there.

Any way, i reckon it is just a way to stir up some cool free publicity

Too many Quangos, Trusts, Associations, Panels, call them what you like. All being funded by the taxpayer, all trying to justify their existence, all dreaming up more advice, rules & regulations in order to to expand their size, power and influence in perpetuity. They cost the country, industry and business a fortune, both directly and indirectly.
How do we get rid of them?

It is now but never used to be. You used to ring the local police station and talk to a local copper. When I lived with my parents we had a local police station with its own phone number for a town of a few thousand people. If the station wasn’t manned at the time it transferred to Telford police. Now you get a control room in Worcester.

Is your Ambulance service not like that?

Ours is, the HQ, that you call up is in Invershug and if you stay in a wee local oddity like what i do, i have to wait an extra 20 minutes, until the summoned ambulance cant find me and HQ has to call the local controller to coordinate.
