Now the Police are missing out

! This post hasn't been updated in over a year. A lot can change in a year including my opinion and the amount of naughty words I use. There's a good chance that there's something in what's written below that someone will find objectionable. That's fine, if I tried to please everybody all of the time then I'd be a Lib Dem (remember them?) and I'm certainly not one of those. The point is, I'm not the kind of person to try and alter history in case I said something in the past that someone can use against me in the future but just remember that the person I was then isn't the person I am now nor the person I'll be in a year's time.

English police are on the receiving end of the same racist treatment as English nurses when it comes to pay increases.

Earlier this year, our nurses were told that they would be getting the same percentage pay rise as Scottish nurses but rather than a single pay increase like in Scotland, their pay increase was to be staged meaning they were getting less.  English police officers have now fallen foul of the same discriminatory policy – they are to reveive the same 2.5% pay rise as Scottish officers but it won’t come into effect until January whilst in Scotland the pay rise is immediate, in full and backdated to September when the British government and the Police entered arbitration over the pay deal.

The emergency services are being treated like pawns in this game of robbing from the English to pay for the Scots.  This isn’t a game, peoples’ lives are at risk if nurses and police officers decide that they don’t want to do their job any more because of this racist, discriminatory decision.

Racial discrimination against the English: just another service New Liebour provide.

No, I think it is a case of poor reading skills.

Both the police themselves and the scottish government, read the agreement and reckoned it said the money was backdated and immediate.

It is their english counterparts in the Home Office who think it says something else, so someone must be wrong somewhere?

Jacqui Smith is the person responsible and she is one of you West midlands people, io wonder why she is pissing on the police chips?

There’s no such identity as West Midlander, it only exists on the SS New Liebour. She’s not one of my people and I’m most certainly not a West Midlander. 😉

No, I meant you could go down to her constituancy offices and whine at her there!

I really do wonder what thepoint of the excercise is?

The Welsh are doing it, the Irish are doing it and so are we, I wonder why England has not?

And we are not doing to piss you lot off, we are doing it because it is what is in the agreement, I am truly mystified!

They’re doing it because they can get away with it. Liebour can rely on Scottish and Welsh voters at the moment. The Scottish Parliament relies on Scottish votes so they have to do things that appeal to Scots. Same goes for Wales and Northern Ireland.

but Liebour are’nt in charge up here and cannot influence the policies to such an extent.

I doubt if they even have any MPs or what ever they are called in Stormont in Ooompah Loompahland.

Are they in charge in wales?

And surely they should be doing more to protect their english interests and constituents, it does not really matter what scotland votes, it is what england wants that runs west minster. Remember how long the tories were without enough seats here to fill the scottish grand committee and had to fill it full of ex pats and people evacuated to the safe seats. (Rifkind & Taylor)

Axel, you misunderstand what I’m saying I think. The Scottish Parliament is accountable only to Scottish voters so whatever they do has to appeal to Scottish voters. Liebour has a majority thanks to its MPs elected in Scotland and Wales (your lot still seem to vote for British Liebour MPs rather than SNP) and doesn’t have to worry as much about satisfying English voters. There will always be enough stupid or misinformed people who will attribute the better treatment of the police in Scotland and Wales to Liebour and even if they don’t, it certainly won’t go against them outside of England.

To answer your second question: Liebour aren’t in control of the Scottish Parliament any more, they’re power-sharing in Wales with Plaid Cymru.

i think we are arguing around the same point but both talking sense.

Yes, the scots labour thugs give the labour party a survivable majority

    but

this is’nt being used to give your police a crap deal that is down to either Jaqui Smith or more likely her ‘party’ advisor but for you ‘speciffically’ it should be a local matter to go and hector her local office, just like for me Brown is more or less local to me.

My question is, why has the Home Office taken the decision it has? I see no value in the decision, except to piss off all levels in the police. It is an excellent mischeif making excercise but……

The Government does’nt need to make mischeif, it can just do what it wants.

There must be some deeper motive, I mean a 3 month pay rise will only be a few million quid which is nothing for a department like the Home office or whatever label the ministry of truth is trading under at the moment.
