The belligerence within the English tradition is still a fresh memory and for some people the national flag is associated with football violence.
Billy Bragg

The British flag is associated with the racist far-left BNP and the violent Brit-Scot nationalist Rangers fans and Bragg has the nerve to claim that the Cross of St George is associated with violence?

Not quite, because Celtic, (the other scotch Team) are all Irish catholics who fly the Irish Sweetie wrapper flag, the huns fly the Jack.
As a point, I do think most of the trouble is due to ‘cultural insensitivity’. I think the touchy feely re activate policing is not neccesarily the best way to work with them. They are Glaswegians, doing glaswegian things, unfortuneatley not in Glasgow but they need treated like Glaswegians, with big sticks and flamethrowers.
We as scots, are pretty thick, we react well to violence and expect it in most situations, I think if the police had stood their ground, the situation would have fizzled out, it was the retreat that that sparked the red mist.

Camera 83!
If they had 83 cameras, why were they not on top of the situation, with their horses, crushing the dissent?
83 is a lot of cameras, i had not really picked up on how much we are watched
